| NVQ
|
National Vocational Qualifications. NVQs are qualifications for people who
are learning and training while they work.

| Employed Status
|
This is where you are on a training course but you are also employed by the
company doing the training.

Advanced
Apprenticeship
|
The highest level
of training course, with employed status. The training takes you at least up
to NVQ level 3 - this is the same level as A levels.

Apprenticeship
|
Training courses that takes you at least up to NVQ level 2 - this is the
same level as 5 GCSEs.

| Jobs with Full
Training or Full NVQ Training
|
This means an ordinary job but with full training included. The training
might involve:

going to college or a training
centre one day a week or in the evening, or
-
doing good quality company
training while you are learning how to do the job

| Job with Some
Training |
This means an ordinary job without full training. You will either know how
to do the job already or you will have to learn it as you work with other
workers in the company.

The type of vacancies you are looking for. Your choices are agreed between
yourself and your Adviser.

| E2E |
There are courses
of a minimum 16 hours per week that help people gain the confidence,
skills and knowledge they need to move from school to college, training or
jobs.

|
Temporary jobs in holiday periods such as Christmas, Easter or Summer.
Popular with students.

| Part-Time Work
|
Part-Time jobs. Often covering evenings or weekends they can provide useful
income to students.

| Personal
Development Opportunities |
This covers a huge variety of volunteering vacancies involving everything from
project team work to helping out with charities or special needs or placements
with different types of organisations. It also covers courses that give you personal skills (e.g. good communication or
listening ability) or practical skills (e.g. telephoning or creating a
good CV) or an introduction to a particular job area (e.g. construction
trades).
